Tips for better translated slides
- Translated text can be longer or shorter than the original. German and French are often longer, so check text boxes for overflow.
- For right-to-left languages such as Arabic and Hebrew, check alignment, bullet direction and the order of elements after translating.
- Keep brand names, product names and technical terms consistent. Review them after translation, or keep a glossary for repeat work.
- Try a second engine if a translation reads awkwardly. Different engines handle tone, idioms and technical language differently.
- Have a native speaker check important decks, such as customer proposals, legal material and anything public.
- Translate a copy of your deck, not the master, so you can always go back to the original.
